"PROXIMITY IN DECAY"

During a five-month residency in the European Capital of Culture 2025 Chemnitz, he created works in which painting becomes a field of traces. Two-part acrylic grounds set a boundary, to which the oil responds like a carnal substance. Figures emerge and disappear again, heads remain open. Lines encircle movements, overpainting makes decisions visible. Familiar things appear between fragments - a bench, a sweater, a koi - they provide orientation without defining anything. Animals such as horses and camels take over where humans become fragile. The group of works HOLD ME, BREAK ME will be shown for the first time on September 28, 2025.
