THE BODY AS A CANVAS

SKIN COUTURE brings together works at the intersection of body painting, performance, photography, and space. The body is not depicted, but becomes a temporary image carrier in its own right. Paint lies directly on the skin; movement alters the image; photography captures a moment that has already vanished by the next instant. Projects such as nahLaut and A flood of images explore proximity, visibility, transience, and transformation. Kneitinger’s earlier international body-painting practice thus evolved into a distinct performative body of work.
