COLLABORATIONS
MATERIAL AND SPACE AS IMAGE CARRIERS"POMP"
In COLLABORATIONS Sani Kneitinger expands her painterly practice to include materials, spaces, and contexts beyond the traditional canvas. In doing so, her visual language is not merely transferred to other surfaces: the material, architecture, action, and use transform the work and become part of the artistic process themselves.
In collaboration with Grasegger the visual language of CANDY MOUNTAINS transformed into a handcrafted dirndl during a public live performance. Color, fabric, body, and action come together to create a one-of-a-kind garment.
For the Porsche Center Garmisch-Partenkirchen Kneitinger developed a site-specific work for the collector’s section. Motifs from the „Green Hell,“ track layouts, distance measurements, and quotes from Ferry Porsche were translated into a visually expansive visual language and integrated with the architecture.
In this way, collaboration does not become a mere decorative application of painting, but rather an extension of it: The material and the space themselves become the medium for the image.
