SCULPTURE
"TIMES OF DOMINANCE"
„HerrSCHAFTszeiten“ is the first sculpture of its kind, combining provocative symbolism with a critical reflection on society. The phallus, traditionally a symbol of power, is enveloped in deep black, with the tip transitioning into purple Botox lips. This transformation reflects the superficial pursuit of outer perfection, while the smooth, flawless surface delivers a disturbing visualization of "beauty" and "power" in today's consumer society.
The piece is further complemented by a self-rolled cigarette, with its glowing tip accompanied by rising ash, symbolizing the transience and decay of personality. It represents the cynicism and manipulation that define our society and trap us in a vicious cycle of self-presentation. The phallus, the Botox lips, and the cigarette come together as a sharp critique of the discrepancy between idealized superficial values and true authenticity.
„HerrSCHAFTszeiten“ challenges the viewer to reflect on the fragile nature of power and beauty in modern times, reflecting the gradual decay of ideals in a world increasingly dominated by outward appearance.
